Preview How to Lose Friends...
Journo Toby Young's hilarious memoir of a loser taking
on New York's snobby magazine world has been turned into an equally
hilarious feature starring Simon Pegg. We're thrilled to unveil the
film in a special preview at London's Screen on the Green on 25
September, and delighted that Toby will join us afterwards for
an entertaining conversation with the film's director, Robert B.
Weide (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and producer, Stephen
Woolley (The Crying Game). To join us, click

More Friendly Producers sign up to meet our trainees
Our unique Friendly Producers scheme - in which we
recruit top producers to meet with participants who have been
through Script Factory training - is continuing to offer an
unprecedented chance to get a foot in the door of the UK's top
industry players. This Autumn, trainees attending any of our
Screenwriting Courses will be invited to submit work for the
chance of a development meeting with one of four producers:
Simon Channing-Williams (Happy Go Lucky, The
Constant Gardener), Laura Hastings-Smith
(Hunger), Peter La Terriere (The New World) and
Robyn Slovo (Catch A Fire). This is a one off
opportunity - but you have to sign up for a Script Factory training
session to make it happen. Find
out more here.
Time to get your Treatments in shape
Need help to write the compelling prose document which will
best sell your current screenplay idea? Join our Treatment
Room - an intensely practical course designed to demystify the
function of treatments in the UK film industry. A great programme
through which to refine a story idea and work constructively with a
small group of fellow writers, the course is also linked to our
Friendly Producers Scheme, which aims to introduce the most
exciting new writing talent to top UK Producers. To find out more
about The Treatment Room which takes place over two days in
October & November, click

Meet us and pitch your project in Cambridge
We're off to the Cambridge Film Festival on 26
September as guests of BAFTA, where we'll be helping to host
their 'pitch' event during which a panel of senior industry figures
will hear your pitch and give you valuable feedback - AND where
you'll get the chance to win prizes (including a coveted Script
Factory development meeting!). To find out more and to submit your
pitch in advance, click
