Linking creative people to professional development

Northern Cultural Skills Partnership

About Us

Cath Walshaw: Locomotion Shildon

Our mission is 'to support people working, or aspiring to work in the cultural sector in the north east region to develop their skills in order to progress their careers'. We are a first point of call for anyone wanting information about skills in the cultural sector in the region. To contact us or to book any of our services you can use phone, email or post. See our contact details at the bottom of the page.

NCSP works on behalf of, and is informed by, our membership: over 2,000 practitioners and companies working across the cultural sector in public, private/commercial settings - a virtual community of freelancers, micro-businesses and SME's, recent graduates brimming with new ideas and long standing and successful creative people leading flagship initiatives who share an understanding of the importance of continuing skills development.

They can be found in architecture, crafts, media, performing visual and literary arts, design, participatory arts, museums libraries and archives, heritage and traditional skills occupations. Our latest Annual Report will tell you more about our members and the services we have delivered on their behalf. Download Annual Report

We use the intelligence provided by our membership to help skills providers in Universities and Colleges, Business Link and the private sector reach a varied and segmented workforce. We manage research projects, facilitate consultation, and using our database can target promotion to specific sectors within the workforce - helping to match provision to the appropriate audience. Go to the case studies using the main tool bar for examples of our work.

NCSP strives to be an equal opportunities organisation in all aspects of our work and employment practice.

We aim for the highest standards in our work and welcome feedback as a way of monitoring and improving our performance. If you would like to comment on our work you can do so by phone, email or post. If you wish to make a complaint, you can download a copy of our complaints procedure here. Download complaints procedure
